BUG when application is setup on multiple mac

Hello, Ive bought the applications, and seems greats, really cool to use without internet connection, as I cut mine sometimes to avoid wifi "waves", But Ive got one important concerns : Ive got a imac and a macbook, Ive setup the wiki offline with the french database on the imac, and Id like to do the same on the macbook, but it displayed me that I dont have anymore update "ticket", What does this means ??? Thanks for the correction or the answer, Zo

Bad Interface, lots of bugs

The "Read Later" does not work, the links it saves returnts "Article not Found". The "View Favorites" stopped working after I added some articles of the portuguese wikipedia version. I had to at the shortcuts myself to the most used functions such as Update Article (Apple +R), Add to Favorites (Apple +S) and View Favorites (Apple + E). For an application that costs 8 euros, having to mannualy switch between the the three wikipedia versions i have (french, portuguese, english) is a pain task. Im really considering to ask for my money back on this one :-(.

How to download a new DB

hi I like to use this app, but I dont know how to download another database ? thank u

icloud dont work ! cant sync signet beetwen too mac or with ipad version

All human knowledge on your hands in a great UI!

Excelent APP!

Troubles

I downloaded the version 1.53 and I had various problems in my Mac. So I had to eliminate the program from my computer. Now I am waiting for the new promised version 1.54 and there is some time they promised this upgrade. Until now, I payed for nothing…. Waiting for an answer of the developers of this program… When are you goinig to place the new version????

Missing the shared DBs for all users on a Mac

Nice software, but Apple wants every user on a single Mac having his own Gigabytes for the Wiki. A waste of space and downloading . . . .

Great App with the integration of icloud

great app, works as promised, good integration with icould so to enable the syncronization across devices, works flawlessly. One thing for curiousity, is there any income to the Wikipedia foundation? If yes, would be great and kind to make such front end app to indirectly support the Wiki. Keep up the great work!

Crashes all the time

The app keeps on crashing while loading a new article. Ive tried to re-install it, but that didnt help. Now it even crashes when connected to the internet. Dont waste your money.

A good start

Wikipedia Offline is a very handy app with a nice feature set. I downloaded the English database and got up and running with no trouble. The article display is very readable, with customizable fonts, font sizes, colour themes, and page margins--a huge improvement over Wikipedias online layout, making this app useful online or off. You can quickly jump to any section of an article with the sidebar table of contents, and links to other Wikipedia articles open within the app. You can also bookmark favourites and access your full article history. The photo viewer is a nice touch, as is the ability to search for text in the current article. The downsides for me are mainly the very limited keyboard control and the inability to have multiple articles open at once. However, the apps developer, who has proven to be very friendly and helpful, said that tabbed browsing and improved keyboard control, as well as numerous other improvements, will be included in an upcoming update. Wikipedia Offline is off to a good start and, with the changes outlined for the upcoming version, has the potential to be a 5-star app. Recommended.

Great

I was looking for something reliable and elegant.... for the most part, thats what Ive found: - the layout is beautiful, spacing, font, etc. - very readable - not a fan of the look of the back/forward/random buttons but.... - I *am* a fan of the minimalist interface. - at first I had a few issues (certain pages not loading, download hiccups) but they were quickly fixed by the developer - a good app when I bought it, a much more reliable app now, still a work in progress, but steady updates over the last months.

Need to get short keys working at least

This app is very promising, albeit with some really unexpected usability problems. 1. The standard OS X short keys dont work well here, and by that I mean you cannot close a window or tab by CMD+W. Or close the search(both wiki search and inline search) by clicking "ESC". 2. Similarily, the expected behavior of back and forward dont really work well here either, it goes to unexpected pages if you have multiple tabs open. Its as if all tabs share the same browsing history. It is very counter-intuinitive. 3. The favourite manager should be given more capabilities such as folders. Overall I think those parts can all be improved in further updates. But until then, I would not recommend it for 10$.

Absolutely Amazing App!!!

By far the best offline wikipedia app for the mac, its extreamly easy and intuitive to use. Also amazing customer service! The first time i downloaded this app it worked flawlessly, i redownloaded it after formatting my mac and it froze, however their customer support gave easy instructions and ended up fixing the problem so it works great again. Feels great to have the largest database of human knowledge all stored on your computer (especially being a university student). I would recommend it to everyone, and well worth the purchase!

Crashes Offline

Everytime I try to search something offline it crashes. I have not been able to find a good troubleshooter or reason. It works great when online but the reason I bought it was to use wikipedia in class offline.

English Database crash again and again

After spending hours to download English Database It crashes every time I want to look for some thing. Small databases in other languages like Persian work well. Very disappointed.

Good concept but keeps on crashing

Each time I try to run a search on this app, the application crashes…Hope it can be fixed.

non-English languages don’t work

13 bucks thrown away

Worth It If You are Offline Often

Using only the English, but frequently since I have no Internet at home, I can say this is a worthwhile compilation of WikiPedia. Not an expert in the finer points, I was disappointed at first because the pages lacked the hyperlinked, footnoted references, one of the strengths of Wikipedia. However, I learned that (if you are online) for any given page in Wikipedia, under the “Article” menu, you can choose “Update Article," and it will refresh the page with current content (any additions/deletions to the text, along with hyperlinked footnotes, and illustrations). Concerning the illustrations, it opens them up in a simple editing interface (for zooming, rotation, full-screening, and searching). But it’s the footnotes that I value most. At the moment, the only way I know to access the external links is to copy the link and paste it into a browser (but I admit I haven’t researched this). On the negative side (and this is minor) the left-hand navigation pane is a bit clumsy. Instead of clicking on “History” for example, one must hover over the “History” line and click to “Show” to the right. Minor. In the end, for people like me who are both offline and think Wikipedia one of the best products of the Internet, this is worth purchasing and using.

The App didn’t download English version and now I can’t use it

I bought the app yesterday and aftre I started to download the English offline version, my internet had some problems. So, the download stopped, and later on, when I started the download again, the app became unresponsive. I tried mailing them, but to no avail. I think I wasted the money to buy the in-app purchase, as the app is not working anymore and even if I delete it from my macbook and try and download it again, it still remains unresponsive.

Poor

crashes…. every time. Lastest update was supposed to fix this, unfortunately still a problem.
